Couple’s Story
Shimoli and Geet’s journey began during their post-graduation days in college, though they barely interacted for almost two years. It wasn’t until their final semester that fate intervened, sparking a conversation that led to an instant connection. Just 15 days later, the pandemic – induced lockdown forced them apart – Geet headed to Delhi, and Shimoli returned to Ahmedabad. Despite the distance, their bond only grew stronger through months of video calls and virtual dates. Finally, in December 2020, they reunited, and a year later, they tied the knot.
With dreams of a grand destination wedding, the couple began their search for a planner and decorator who could bring their vision to life. Reflecting on the experience, the bride shares, “Desert Pearl Entertainment is hands-down the best planner you can have for your big day. An unexpected thunderstorm hit just as our events were about to begin, but the team handled everything with remarkable calm and efficiency. For two days straight, they were constantly on their feet, managing every detail and ensuring that our celebration unfolded just as we had imagined.”
Wedding Highlights
Mehendi
Set against a backdrop of stunning architecture, the Mehendi ceremony embraced a soft, subdued color palette that allowed the venue’s charm to shine through. Pastel-toned furnishings with paisley-printed upholstery added a vintage yet inherently desi touch to the celebration. Shimoli glowed in a vibrant yellow ensemble, while Geet provided a beautiful contrast in a simple teal kurta, together creating a picture-perfect moment.
Sundowner
The Sundowner exuded rustic bohemian charm with bare wooden seating softened by plush white cushions. Adorned with macramé accents, the setup invited guests to relax and unwind while enjoying the festivities. The laid-back vibe blended seamlessly with the natural surroundings, creating an effortlessly stylish atmosphere.
Cocktail Party
The evening came alive with a glamorous Cocktail Party bathed in a neon glow. An entryway lined with fairy lights and LED signage led guests into a vibrant space, where a lush foliage backdrop added a refreshing contrast. Shimoli turned heads in a dazzling black sequined gown, walking in arm-in-arm with Geet, who looked sharp in a velvet suit – together, they made quite the entrance.
Haldi
The Haldi ceremony was a joyful affair filled with laughter and tradition. The couple sat playfully on lotus-shaped urlis as a canopy of marigold garlands added a golden glow to the space. Breaking away from the usual yellow attire, Shimoli and Geet chose green outfits that popped beautifully against the bright backdrop, resulting in truly memorable photographs.
Wedding
Surrounded by misty mountains and drifting clouds, Shimoli and Geet’s Wedding was nothing short of a fairytale. Determined to say their vows under the open sky, the couple chose a breezy mandap adorned with pink and white florals and delicate white drapes that swayed in the wind. Both dressed in shades of white, Shimoli stunned in a lehenga paired with emerald-studded jewelry, while Geet looked regal in a classic sherwani – their love story unfolding in the most elegant setting.
Reception
For the Reception, the couple embraced a minimal rustic theme. The venue was softly lit with vintage lanterns and wooden stands adorned with white flowers, creating a romantic and intimate vibe. Shimoli and Geet opted for modern Indo-western looks, her in a contemporary lehenga and him in a stylish bandhgala – commanding attention as they celebrated the perfect end to their beautiful wedding journey.
