WEDDING PLANNER AND DÉCOR: DESERT PEARL ENTERTAINMENT
Shraddha Mehra, a spirited lawyer, and Sanyam Mehra, a grounded businessman, their story began in Kanpur at a humble food joint—two strangers brought together by their love for food and travel. It was, as they described, “Love at First Conversation.” That connection, deep and effortless, quickly blossomed into something more. During one of their many long chats, Sanyam asked Shraddha to marry him -spontaneously and wholeheartedly. While Shraddha’s parents were initially taken aback by how quickly things progressed, Sanyam’s clarity and conviction reassured everyone. The couple exchanged rings on 19th December 2020.
While Shraddha was focused on looking her absolute best for the big day, Sanyam had his heart set on hosting a grand, royal celebration with a unique flair. But as fate would have it, the COVID-19 pandemic turned their plans upside down, and the two tied the knot in an intimate ceremony at the Mehra residence in Kanpur on 26th April 2021, surrounded only by their closest family members.
As the world slowly began to recover, so did their postponed dreams. We at Desert Pearl had the honor of curating their long-awaited post-wedding celebration in Jaisalmer in September – a celebration of love that had already stood the test of time. From a quiet home wedding to the vibrant dunes of Rajasthan, Shraddha and Sanyam’s journey was nothing short of magical.
At Desert Pearl, the much-awaited celebration of #SamkiShradha began with a vibrant Welcome Lunch set in the whimsical charm of Cappadocia. Inspired by the couple’s shared love for travel, especially their memorable trip to Turkey during their first year of courtship, the decor brought to life the earthy, rustic tones and magical landscapes of Cappadocia. Terracotta elements, lanterns, pampas grass, pinecones, and subtle sepia hues evoked the mystical essence of the region, creating a warm, joyful setting where guests gathered to the tune of live music and heartfelt conversations.
The evening unfolded into “The Wild One”; a theme that truly lived up to its name. Inspired by the lush wildness of the Amazon, this high-energy celebration was filled with overgrown leaves, vines, blooming florals, and glowing neon lights that added a surreal aura to the space. The atmosphere was electric with dance, laughter, and unrestrained joy, turning the night into a wild party that beautifully echoed the exuberance of Sanyam and Shradha’s love.
Adding a playful twist to the festivities, “Let’s Ketch Up” brought the spirit of Spain’s iconic Tomatina festival to the sands of Suryagarh. Guests of all ages dove into the fun, engaging in a vibrant tomato fight under the afternoon sun. The bride and groom’s seating arch, the grand entrance, and the creatively styled centerpieces added an extra spark to the lively afternoon. All safety measures were observed, with guests donning masks and enjoying the Spanish revelry responsibly.
The celebrations reached a tender, dreamy high with “Shrine in the Blush”; a cherry blossom-themed ceremony where Sanyam and Shradha renewed their vows in a Christian wedding. Swathed in soft pink and white hues, the decor reflected the delicate beauty of cherry blossoms in full bloom. Acrylic furnishings added a modern touch, while the emotional ceremony created a heartfelt moment for the couple and their loved ones. It was a fitting ode to a love that had weathered challenges and blossomed a new — a dream-come-true chapter in their journey.
